Philm Factory, where visions are manufactured
Philadelphia Film Factory (Philm Factory) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering local independent filmmakers, residents, youth, and creatives by providing a wide range of educational, economic, and professional opportunities in film, entertainment, and media. Our mission is to equip participants with the skills, experience, and exposure necessary to thrive within these industries and beyond.
Philm Factory is deeply committed to supporting underserved and underrepresented communities, particularly marginalized groups who face systemic barriers to entry in the film and media sectors. We believe in the transformative power of diversity—not only in representation in front of and behind the camera, but also in ensuring equitable access to industry knowledge, resources, and opportunities for those who have historically been excluded.
Through professional development classes, workshops, programming, events, and productions, we provide hands-on training, networking opportunities, and access to industry professionals. These initiatives enable our participants to gain practical experience while building the knowledge needed to succeed in the film and entertainment industries.
In addition to empowering filmmakers, Philm Factory is dedicated to strengthening Philadelphia’s film industry, culture, and economy. We foster collaboration with local businesses and work to build a sustainable, inclusive ecosystem for film production and media arts in the city.
