Entrepreneur Works Presents the Business of Art featuring Julius Tennon
Philm Factory was proud to participate in Entrepreneur Works Presents: The Business of Art featuring Julius Tennon (co-founder of JuVee Productions), an inspiring evening that brought together filmmakers, artists, and creative entrepreneurs from across Philadelphia for a conversation about creativity, ownership, and building sustainable careers in the arts. The event was in partnership with Philm Factory, Reelblack Inc. & Teaspoon & Pond Media.
Held at the Academy of Natural Sciences, the event featured acclaimed actor and producer Julius Tennon, who shared insights from his decades-long career in film and television as well as his work as co-founder of JuVee Productions alongside his wife, EGOT winner Viola Davis. Throughout the conversation, Tennon emphasized the importance of understanding both the artistic and business sides of the industry.
The discussion was moderated by filmmaker and educator Janine Spruill and hosted by creative business consultant Aisha Winfield, creating a dynamic dialogue around storytelling, entrepreneurship, and long-term career sustainability for creatives.
As both event partners and participants, Philm Factory founders Eli and Lu Bevins also had the opportunity to share their upcoming feature film The Soil during a special feedback session with Tennon. The exchange offered valuable insight and highlighted the importance of mentorship and collaboration within the filmmaking community.
Philm Factory was honored to be part of an evening that celebrated Philadelphia’s creative talent while creating space for meaningful conversations about the future of independent film and creative entrepreneurship.
We thank Entrepreneur Works, TSP & LB Media, ReelBlack, and all of the creatives who joined us for an unforgettable night of inspiration and connection.
