Eli & Lu Bevins
After working in numerous projects in Hollywood, twin sisters, filmmakers, digital designers, and spoken word duo, Eli and Lu Bevins co-founded the Philadelphia Film Factory non-profit to serve the local film community and provide access to industry standard film information. Eli and Lu were raised by their grandparents in West Philadelphia. The sisters graduated from Overbrook High School in 2008, before attending Elizabeth City State University, receiving their bachelor’s in Computer Science with a minor in Aviation. Eli and Lu founded Eli Lu Entertainment in 2009.
In 2015, the sisters received their Master’s degree in Information Architecture from Indiana University (IU), in Bloomington, IN. Since 2015 they have written, directed and produced numerous short films, won several film awards, created feature-length screenplays, and produced several stage plays, including “Broken Tables” Spoken Word play, which opened to a crowd of 700 total in 2018. In 2020, Eli and Lu released “Sound Mind,” a cinematic mixtape consisting of 12 thought-provoking poetic short films with over 150 actors from the Philadelphia area. Additionally, the twins are Executive Producers alongside Tina Knowles Lawson and Richard Lawson, of a global virtual talent show called “I Got the Mic: Poetic Experience.” The sisters are also Digital Designers for the star-studded “Wearable Art Gala” and WACO Theater Center in Los Angeles. Since 2018, Eli and Lu have designed 60 page AD booklets that congratulated Gala honorees, such as Beyoncé, Tyler Perry, Angela Bassett and more. In 2022, the sisters produced the “Stomp’n at the Savoy” Stage at the Gala, which featured talent such as the notable Freda Payne, Obba Babatunde, Kiki Sheppard, and Keith David. Currently, the sisters are also President & Vice President of the Mill Creek Community Partnership non-profit which birthed the annual MCCP Hip Hop Jazz Fest with headliners like Rapper Philadelphia Freeway.
